I've not had a whole lot of great ideas for bloggy articles lately. I didn't even write one this week, honestly, I forgot. I haven't had anything so interesting that I would write it up a week before my self-imposed deadline. I do have three ideas for longer bloggy series:
- Continue talking about Turkey--I have only written about a quarter of the things that I could have
- How to lead Bible studies--I find that whenever I'm training small group leaders, I have concrete advice that I've figured out myself, but I don't see anyone else using these tips
- Talk about how I work. I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I could write a whole article about plain 8 1/2x11" paper.
Questions for discussion:
- Which of these would you, dear reader, prefer to read?
- For the series on Bible study, I want to use one passage or book as a case study. What do you think would make a good test case?
I'm glad you've acknowledged your throat-clearing, because you do it around the house all the time. It's sort of how I know where you are and what you're doing when I don't feel like getting up and looking.
ReplyDeleteI think that I would prefer the Bible study series, and I suggest the Olivet Discourse or one of the longer Psalms for a passge.
ReplyDeleteYour work habits have always fascinated me - if I wasn't so lazy, I could probably write a great pop psychology book about them.
ReplyDeleteOf course, it would be even better if I could sneakily convince you to write essays about yourself, disguised as blog posts. Then I could hire an expensive lawyer to sue you and get me the rights to your writings, and I could just compile them into a book.

ReplyDeletei would very much like to read a series on Bible Study leading, especially since I'll be doing UMBC IV's discipleship groups this semester.
ReplyDeleteAs for passage, i don't have anything specific, but something that has a little bit of everything (culture text, history, theological context, different kinds of literature) would be nice, that way you could hit all the bases. So, maybe pick a choose passages from a gospel?
